Welcome to St. Boniface Church

SHEPHERD`S NOTES

May 6, 2012 ~ Fifth Sunday of Easter + Reflection

Bearing fruit—and even more fruit—requires pruning. The pruning tool of the Father-vine grower is the Son’s word. Allowing this word to shape us brings forth a life-giving relationship with Jesus likened to a branch that remains on a vine that assures abundant and good fruit. Five times we are told to bear fruit. Eight times we are told to remain in Jesus.  How many times, then, must we be shaped by the word?

Congratulations to our Parish’s

First Holy Communion Class, their parents and families! May Jesus in the Holy Eucharist always be your love and guide!

First Holy Communion ~ Last Sunday the second graders of the parish made their First Holy Communion. Special Bona thanks to Jodi Roberts, Barb Stamer, Sister Kathleen Ann, Sister Anna, Aaron Hines and Heather Sundar for their support and encouragement.

Saint Boniface Parish School ~ Registration continues for the up and coming school year. Parents of school-aged children who are interested in enrolling their child/children in our Parish School (Pre K–8) should contact Sister Anna at the Parish School Office or myself at the Parish Office. If you have financial concerns, please do not allow this to serve as an obstacle for potential enrollment at St. Boniface Parish School. I am happy to meet with parents in order to assure Catholic education may be provided for your child/children.

FMCHS ~ Our regional Catholic High School will open its doors in mid-August with its first class of Freshman. Parents of current eighth graders should consider FMCHS as an option for a quality Catholic High School education. Please see insert for more information.

BONIFEST 2012 ~ The annual event which officially kicks off summer in the Edwardsville community is quickly approaching.   I would ask that every parishioner participate by volunteering your time, donating items (desserts, liters of soda, mystery bag items), and praying for a safe weekend with excellent summertime weather!
