| St. Boniface Preschool
At St. Boniface we are able to offer a rich curriculum for your child starting at age 3 until he or she graduates from the 8th grade. Our Pre-school program understands that this may be the first time your child has been away from you, and we take great strides to ease the transition. Their time with us is safe, nurturing, educational, and fun.
There are many questions that parents ask when considering a pre-school for their son or daughter. At St. Boniface we pride ourselves on a curriculum that balances hands-on learning opportunities with exploration and play time to develop social skills, as well.
We have two different 3 year old sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our 4 year olds gather 3 times each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a morning or afternoon session, as well.
Our Curriculum
Through many seasonal topics we try to give the children the best first school experience possible. We provide many hands on projects to help make learning fun and memorable. We also try to prepare our preschoolers for kindergarten with many activities, games, cooking projects, cutting, painting, coloring, fine motor skill builders, and gross motor skill builders. We provide the children with a good base in letter, number, color, and shape recognition.
In learning about our alphabet the children also learn phonics, beginning word sounds, rhyming words, and some beginning site words. Our math skills include being able to use numbers to count and learn the concepts of addition and subtraction. Computers enhance our learning program with a variety of fun skill building games, as well as, helping the children gain skills in hand and eye coordination.
Through all of our preschool experiences we promote a good Christian attitude by caring for animals from time to time, as well as, all of our classmates each day. We sing Christian songs at the beginning of each session and always give God thanks before each snack time. We learn about all the wonderful things that God has created. We have many projects to help the children understand what the season of Advent is about. We also teach the children about Jesus as a baby, through acting out the nativity story, in our Christmas program. We use stories, videos, and hands on projects to impress upon the children that Jesus grew up to help many people. We also learn about the season of Lent. We encourage the children to follow Jesus’ example everyday.
