Adult Choir

The Adult Choir leads the congregation in song at the 10:15 AM Sunday morning Mass, as well as at all special liturgies, such as Confirmation and First Communion. The choir sings a mixture of traditional and contemporary liturgical music. Membership is open to all men and women of the parish, ages 13 and up. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening from 7:30 – 9:00 PM in the church beginning the last week of August through the Feast of Corpus Christi (mid-June).

The Cantor is both a singer and leader of congregational song. One of the cantor`s main roles is in proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm at the weekend Masses and special liturgies, such as Holy Days, Confirmation, and First Communion. Cantors may lead the congregation by themselves or sing in small groups. They should be confident in their singing before a large congregation and have a pleasant singing voice. Please consult the Cantor Schedule or Parish Calendar for the rehearsal schedule.

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir provides musical leadership at one weekend Mass every month, as well as at special liturgical celebrations, such as Christmas Eve and Easter Masses. Choristers are introduced to both contemporary and traditional sacred music from the great composers. Special emphasis is placed on improving unison singing and cantoring skills, and beginning singing in parts. Score reading and rhythmic reading are also introduced. The Children’s Choir is open to all youths of the parish in Grades 2 through 8. All members should be able to match pitch and read at a second-grade level, at a minimum.

Handbell Choir

Founded in 2008, the Handbell Choir is comprised of 11 members ringing 3 octaves of English-style handbells. The choir lends its beautiful and unique talent to the weekend liturgies once a month and on feast days, such as Christmas and Easter.  Membership is by audition only and limited to ages 10 through adult who will make a commitment to attending all weekly rehearsals and all required Masses at which this Choir is scheduled. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings in the church. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled before a Mass at which the choir plays.

Instrumentalists, such as wind, string, and brass ensembles, enrich parish liturgies by sharing their musical talents to glorify God.  Instrumentalists play for weekend and Holy Day Masses, and other liturgies throughout the year. Membership is open to anyone who has sufficient training in playing an instrument (usually a minimum of 2-3 years), can read music, and has experience playing with a group.

Teen/Young Adult

The Teen/Young Adult Choir leads the congregation in song at the 5:15 PM Masses on the first and third Sunday of the month.  The choir includes singers and instrumentalists and emphasizes contemporary liturgical music. Membership is open to young men and women of the parish (6th Grade through college).  Rehearsals are currently held prior to Mass at 3:30 PM in the church.
